Who I am

My name is Emily and I am a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP). I became a nurse and then a WHNP because I had gynecological (female) issues. I felt I wasn’t heard. Things that seemed simple to my providers were utterly confusing to me. No one took the time to explain to me why I was feeling what I was feeling and the physiological (medical) causes for it. Since then I have tried to be an advocate for those who need to be heard. I want to educate women, and men, on the basic anatomy (body structures) and reasons behind basic functions of a woman’s body.
